THE ALBUQUERQUE RAIL TRAIL
The Albuquerque Rail Trail brings our neighborhoods back together. For years, the railroad corridor created quiet divides between places that were always meant to be connected. This project transforms that corridor into a seven‑mile loop where people can walk, bike, visit local shops, enjoy nearby parks, and spend time outdoors.
Each part of the trail reflects the history and character of the surrounding neighborhood. It creates safer crossings, more comfortable paths, and easier ways to reach museums, businesses, cultural destinations, and transit. The Rail Trail honors Albuquerque’s cultural roots while building a future where people have more choices for getting around and more chances to connect with one another.
